Active and Retired Members of the Employees’ Retirement System of Rhode Island: As directed by the General Assembly and required by Rhode Island Law, the General Treasurer convened a Pension Advisory Working Group to review the impacts of the Rhode Island Retirement Security Act of 2011. The Advisory Working Group met six times over the past four months. The last meeting took place on Monday, February 26, 2024. All meetings were open to the public and livestreamed by CapitolTV. ERSRI members were encouraged to submit written testimony to gentreasurer@treasury.ri.gov, or through the online submission form. The final report of the working group submitted to the General Assembly may be found here.
Unclaimed Property Each year, the Treasurer’s office recovers unclaimed cash and assets from businesses, banks, landlords, safe deposit boxes and utility companies. The property is kept safe until it can be returned to its rightful owner. More than 300,000 Rhode Islanders have property waiting to be returned to them, and many don’t even realize it until they search our database and find their missing money. Learn about unclaimed property and how to file a claim, here.
