General Treasurer Diossa Announces New Unclaimed Property Website Domain - FindRIMoney.gov Published on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 Providence, RI – Today, Rhode Island General Treasurer James Diossa announced that Rhode Islanders searching for their unclaimed property will find that the official website has a new address, at FindRIMoney.gov. The previous address, FindRIMoney.com, will redirect users to the new unclaimed property website during this transition. Each year, the Treasurer’s office recovers unclaimed cash and assets from businesses, banks, landlords, safe deposit boxes, and utility companies. The property is kept safe until it can be returned to its rightful owner. Thus far in FY 2024, the Unclaimed Property Program has returned close to $17 million to over 19,000 Rhode Islanders. Over 300,000 Rhode Islanders have property waiting to be returned to them, and most don’t realize until they have searched for their missing money using the online database. “The transition to a .gov domain further assures Rhode Islanders recovering unclaimed property can trust the website is official and secure,” said General Treasurer Diossa. “I would like to thank Carol Aguasvivas and the Unclaimed Property team for leading this website update effort, allowing for a smooth transition between domain names so that everyone looking to access the money that is rightfully theirs can do so comfortably.” Check and see whether you have unclaimed property that can be recovered through a free and easy recovery process at FindRIMoney.gov or by calling RI Unclaimed Property Division at 401-462-7676.
