Treasurer Diossa Announces Financial Literacy Educator Award Nominations Open

Today, Rhode Island General Treasurer James A. Diossa announced that nominations for the 2023 Rhode Island General Treasurer’s Financial Literacy Educator Award are now open.

“As a proud graduate of the Central Falls school system, I know firsthand the impact that teachers can have on a student’s life,” said Treasurer Diossa. “Throughout Rhode Island, teachers are shaping the minds of tomorrow and preparing our youth for the real world, especially by teaching financial literacy. Teachers’ outstanding efforts deserve to be celebrated, which is why I am pleased to announce that nominations for 2023 Rhode Island General Treasurer’s Financial Literacy Educator Award are now open.”

This award honors educators who lead their field by teaching personal finance, economics, business, and other related courses. Nominations are due by Friday, April 7 and may be submitted here.
