Treasurer Diossa Celebrates Financial Literacy Month 2023 Published on Wednesday, April 05, 2023 Providence, RI – Today, Rhode Island General Treasurer James A. Diossa kicked off Financial Literacy Month. Celebrated every year in April, Financial Literacy Month is an opportunity to share with Rhode Islanders the importance of personal money management. “Financial literacy is something that impacts the security of all Rhode Islanders,” said Treasurer Diossa. “From loans and interest rates, to investments and savings accounts, it is crucial that people across our state are up to date on issues that affect their daily lives. This includes folks in low- and moderate-income communities who deserve to be given the tools to make smart and effective decisions regarding their financial well-being.” Throughout April, the Treasurer’s Office will be highlighting efforts to increase financial literacy and shouting out individuals and organizations that are also marking the occasion.
