State of Rhode Island, Office of the General Treasurer , James A. Diossa, General Treasurer

Dear Treasurer Diossa

When I started working for the state, each year of service counted of 1.8 percent of your pay upon retirement. Then they changed it to 1.6 percent. Then Raimondo changed it to 1 percent. Not what I signed up for. Raimondo also eliminated the cola. The unfairness of this is breath taking. I would only expect this in a very poor red state like Mississippi not Rhode Island. To make matters worse the inflation has made matters much worse. Neighboring states trimmed their pension benefits in a much less drastic way. The Governor did not even mention us in his State of the State speech. Please Help Us!
